Why should I find a family through this agency?

We strive to find the best possible families for our babysitters and nannies. We look for families that match our babysitters’ schedules and experience level, but also families that match our babysitters’ unique personalities and childcare philosophies. We strive to find the best paying babysitting jobs in the industry for our top babysitters and nannies, and to find families who are kind, respectful, and great employers – not to mention who have bright and fun kids to work with!

Additionally, we strive to make the process as transparent and stress-free as possible for our candidates. We have worked with hundreds of babysitters and nannies, many of whom have joined the network after recently moving to NYC from other states or countries. We provide a supportive network for our babysitters, and arrange monthly meet ups and discussion groups to promote continued learning as well as fun! Learn more about our family placement process.

Why wasn’t I invited in for an interview?

We work with a select number of NYC families, and have a very thorough and intensive application and family placement process. To ensure our high placement rate and personal matching process, we only accept 15-30 new candidates each month, from hundreds of qualified applicants. While we place great value on the experience level of our candidates when reviewing applications, many additional factors are considered during the application process.

How does this process work?

After carefully reviewing your application, we will reach out to a select number of candidates for an interview. Currently we are only able to accept 7% of applicants into our network. Learn more about our application process.

What do you look for in babysitting and nanny applicants?

Many things! Above all else, we look for passionate individuals who truly love working with children, and who have a good understanding of children. Read more about the qualifications we look for.

What is the cost of joining the network?

There is no cost to join. After being preliminarily accepted into the network, the final step is to pay for a background check, which costs $35.

How am I paid? Do you take a cut of my salary?

We do not take a cut of our babysitters’ or nannies’ salaries. Families pay babysitter rates and nanny salaries directly to you. View further rate and salary information.

Can I apply without an NYC address?

Yes, if you have concrete plans to move to NYC. Please just list your current address on the application. If you are an exceptional candidate, we will conduct the interview via Skype, and then arrange for an in-person meeting upon your move to NYC.

Should I still apply if I can only commit for a few months?

On average, it can take 1-2 months to find a nanny or babysitting job within our agency, many of which required a commitment of one school year or longer. We currently consider candidates with a minimum of 6 months of availability. If your schedule will be fluctuating, you may still submit an application and be considered for short-term or on-call babysitting jobs.

Can I apply if I only have morning/evening/weekend availability?

Yes, but we only have a limited number of jobs that fit that availability. If you can commit to a regular schedule (for example: every weekend, every Thursday evening, every morning) you may have more luck finding a babysitting job through our agency.

Do I need to have babysitting experience to apply?

You do not, but we only accept a select number of candidates with no professional childcare experience. If you have childcare-related experience (such as tutoring, teaching, camp counseling, etc.) you are strongly encouraged to apply. We look for candidates who have a really good understanding of how children think and work, and who are able to have fun with children but also able to adeptly deal with conflicts and challenges.

Can I apply if I did not attend college?

At this time, we are only able to meet with candidates who are currently attending, or have attended college. We work with a select number of top full-time nannies who did not attend college, but who have worked as a full-time nanny for at least 5 years. Read more about the qualifications we look for.

Can I apply without a work permit?

To officially join the network and work with families, you must be eligible to work within the U.S. with a work visa or Green card. If for any reason you are unsure about your eligibility to work in the U.S., please let us know. We will make a note on your application and be happy to consider you, once you have the proper work documents.
