About Me

I obtained a B.S in Dance-Theatre from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY and I’m currently working at the Lark Play Development Center as the Off-site programs intern for the summer. I am originally from Ecuador. I lived in Quito until the age of 17 and was awarded a full-scholarship to study the IB program at Lester B. Pearson United World College in Victoria, BC, Canada.

I developed a passion for the arts at a very young age. My study of extracurricular activities such as music and painting, informed my determination to become an arts advocate and pursue the arts education path in the future. At the age of 10 I started taking dance lessons and discover my love for this physical language. Once I started dancing, I couldn’t stop. Dance has become my ally, it helps me to discovering myself and it helps me help others to discover their skills. Such is the case, that when I started being a dance teacher-in-training, I acknowledge the power of the performing arts in the development of an organized, mature, responsible, avid and detail-oriented personality in kids, because I had become one myself. When in Canada, I had the chance to take theatre classes and I fell in love with it. Since then on, I started to combine my love for both arts: dance and theater, to create new works but overall, to help the kids, I have worked and will work with, to develop their artistic, intellectual and emotional skills in a fun and exciting way.
