As a recent graduate of Pratt Institute, I take great pleasure in sharing my creative skills with other people. I illustrated my first children’s book in high school and have always been diverse in my interests, taking on many art forms such as print-making, tie-dye, ceramics, painting, drawing and knitting. After one summer working as a camp counselor at Omega Teen Camp, I realized that art is an integral part of our development as social, compassionate, creative human beings. At camp, I was co-creating a safe, imaginative community with these young people while also offering them a space to experiment artistically and play with what they learned in the classes I led.
I want to offer my empathy and support in helping children develop their social skills in a creative environment. I take pride in building safe spaces for kids to feel like they can be themselves and explore their inner worlds, and I like to start connecting with people by being open and communicative. I always bring something to do with the kids when I babysit, anything from a ball of yarn, to a good book, to a box of oil pastels. Being outside and active is a passion of mine just as much as reading, journaling, or making art.
