Throughout my life I’ve worked with children in positions ranging from the neighborhood babysitter to the teacher’s assistant. With my most recent family, I enjoyed developing a committed relationship with both the parents and the children. Together we cooked dinners, painted, wrote, and played sports (all of which are a part of my personal passions).
No matter what position I’ve worked in, I have always approached the job as a mentor and educator hoping to not only engage the children but also to teach them along the way. I’ve had experience managing administrative offices as well, which has given me the necessary skills to multi-task, and organize. I understand how to pay attention to detail and be efficient.
I like to engage the children I work with in fun, creative, and meaningful ways. Coming from a theater background I understand the impact that the arts can have on a child’s life, which is why I try to work with children in as creative and imaginative, a way as possible. As a nanny I try to give children a lot of opportunity to trust their own ideas and am there to listen. This enables the children to develop a unique, strong sense of self even at a young age, in a supportive and imaginative environment. While I take joy in the opportunity to reach and educate children, they teach me more than I could ever thank them for.
