About Me

Since graduating from Pratt Institute, I’ve been an ice cream man, an obituary writer, a busboy, a dog trainer, and an unpaid intern, but it’s my experiences as a poet, a teacher and a friend that make me a great sitter. I understand the value of engaging and harboring the imagination of each child. I have experience working with a wide range of kids, including children with autism and other special needs, as a nanny (live-in and live-out), babysitter, coach and tutor. I pride myself on my ability to have fun while keeping a level head.

When working with kids, I’m devoted to creating a clear-cut, safe environment first and foremost, then laughing, learning and creating within that environment. As a poet, I value the way children speak and think. It inspires me, surprises me, and reminds how wonderfully unique we all are. I believe in listening and patience. I believe in creativity—I sing, play ukulele, piano and guitar, and am something of a literary pundit. I’m also a huge dog lover and host/organize a reading series in my apartment.

I have professional childcare experience with…

Toddlers, Pre-school aged children, Elementary school aged children, Middle school aged children, Children with special needs, Multiples
