About Me

Having an overactive imagination is where my passions for writing and childcare intersect. I used to think of the two interests as separate and divisible, but now, as it goes with the gift of hindsight, I can clearly see why I’ve always sought jobs that involve daily interactions with kids. I’m a big one at heart, especially in my love for make believe. And laughter. And simplicity. The list goes on!

I recently graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from The New School. Throughout all of my education I’ve supported myself with babysitting and kid-related retail work. My customers have always become my friends and my friends have become my customers. In the spirit of community, it really does take a village. Or at least it’s more fun that way. And rewarding!

I’ve hosted Girl Scout troops and awarded fashion badges (there are badges for everything! It cracks me up), I’ve volunteered as a counselor for an overnight kids’ summer camp, and I’ve volunteered at a slum kids’ crisis center in Calcutta, India. I’ve seen it all, and will forever be inspired by every kid I meet. Their fresh perspectives, unbridled hope, and total commitment to fun make them the best company to keep.

I love baking, photography, reading, traveling, and quality time with quality friends. Half of which are half my age.
