My passion for working with children comes from being surrounded by children growing up and naturally being a nurturing and caring person. I am the oldest of five children and have been surrounded by kids ever since my siblings were born. My childcare experience started when I was 12 years old, when I spent the summer taking care of my two cousins while my aunt and uncle went to work. While I was in college in Pennsylvania, I cared for adults with MH/MR disabilities, as well as babysitting for several families. After I completed my Associate’s degree, I moved to New York City and immediately fell back into childcare and it is something I plan to do for the rest of my life.
Children have limitless amounts of potential and are full of endless amounts of love. Everything we say and do is what they are learning from us, as well as everything they see in the world. It is important to me to give children the positivity and structure that they thrive on and need to succeed, while maintaining a fun and imaginative environment. New York City has so much to offer children such as countless museums, countless spaces to play, libraries, parks, zoos, markets, culture and people. I enjoy taking children to all of these spaces; we live in one of the greatest cities in the world and it is important to explore all of the beautiful things to which we have access. I love painting with children, building endless amounts of sand castles, visiting the stars in our rocket ships, playing soccer in the park, always encouraging politeness and allowing children to embrace who they are as individuals.
