About Me

I have eclectic interests and have reached where I am today through a circuitous route. I attended the Culinary Institute of America in order to pursue my love of the culinary arts, as I’m excited by the science of cooking and the art of making a truly delicious meal to share with family and friends. Following the CIA, I spent a few years working as a professional chef in a number of esteemed restaurants, while at the same time pursuing my passion for painting and a career as a professional artist.

Having always had an interest in education, I decided to return to school to pursue a bachelor’s degree at Prescott College, where I studied educational theory and the learning process, with a focus on learning differences and experiential learning. After Prescott, I became an extended scholar at the Escalen Institute where I studied the group process and facilitation. I then returned to my hometown of Philadelphia to co-found Wilson Community School, where I served as Director, Behavior Education Coordinator, and the founding coordinator of the Structured Socialized Recess Program. I relocated to New York when my wife received a position as a surgical resident at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Since moving to NYC, I have served as a private tutor and personal chef for a local family.
