About Me

I have been babysitting for 9 years now in my hometown of Bethesda, Maryland both while in high school and on college breaks. I moved to New York at the beginning of the calendar year and have been working freelance on film sets and learning more about production in New York through producing and directing my own short films. The big-picture goal is to build up a portfolio that leads me to a job writing on a television show or directing features and commercials. For the time being I love being here and exploring New York City! In my spare time, I’m usually cooking, writing, or checking out all the museums and art New York has to offer.

When babysitting, I love finding creative activities for children that are engaging and fun for everyone involved! Some of my favorite times that come to mind are raising butterflies from a cocoon kit, inventing a new board game, and making gooey gak (and NOT getting it in the carpet) from household materials for a science fair.

Spending time with children has been such a privilege for me. When people ask me how I deal with writers block, I tell them that being around kids is the best cure. Their boundless creative energy is so much fun to tap into, and their frank take on the world is extremely refreshing. Nannying for me is more than just a job; it’s a personal connection and a privilege to be brought into a family. SmartSitting understands how wonderful it is to be entrusted by a family to care for a child, not only to keep them safe, but also to guide them as they grow.

I have professional childcare experience with…
