About Me

Since graduating college and moving to NYC, I have found a love for working within the business side of the arts as an administrator, and also have found a niche teaching music to children (mainly ages K-6th Grade). For the past three years, I’ve been involved with a program that allows me to help kids bring out their creative sides through music, song and a bit of movement. In addition to the above, I have also worked on and off as a part time babysitter/nanny for the past thirteen years for children of all ages and families of different backgrounds. I love to cook and to find new ways to make my life, and the work that I do fun and creative.

When working with children, I am most interested in taking part in their personal development. I spent about six weeks traveling to an orphanage in Guatemala City as an undergraduate student, and it was there that I was really able to find inspiration and a love for watching children advance and develop under my direction. One of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as a child-care provider was sitting at the recital for one of the girls I was caring for. Thinking of the countless hours we spent together at the piano working on her music, to seeing her perform almost flawlessly, was a moment I’ll never forget. Along with music and teaching, I really enjoy spending time with my husband and exploring the cultural opportunities this amazing city has to offer. I am always striving to find experiences that will enrich the way that I teach, perform, and ultimately see the world and live my life.

I have professional childcare experience with…

Infants, Toddlers, Pre-school aged children, Elementary school aged children, Middle school aged children

I will be SmartSitting while…

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children…

Are first and foremost, music! I love to play around with musical games, songs and piano, if there's one available. I also love engaging children in board games and crafts, and especially cooking and baking, if I have permission.
