I recently moved to New York from San Antonio, Texas where I spent the past year teaching middle school art in a low-income school. I am extremely interested in learning more about museum and art education in New York. I love photography, painting, and drawing. When working with children as a teacher or as a nanny, I have a strong inclination to focus on the one-on-one relationships that I build with kids. I have found that by building strong relationships with them, I create a foundation of trust and respect with children that cannot be broken.
Because of my teaching experience, I understand the importance of being organized and flexible at the same time. I attribute my flexibility and ability to adjust to new situations easily to the time I spent studying abroad in India. My experiences there sparked my interest in traveling and since then I have been to Ecuador, Greece, and Turkey. While art and traveling are of extreme interest to me, I truly value the experiences I have had as a nanny and teacher and I hope to continue to teach, learn from students, and create wonderful bonds with families.
