About Me

I am ecstatic about being a SmartSitter. In August, I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies, with an emphasis on International Security and a minor in European Studies. In addition to working for several government officials and foreign policy think-tanks during college, my work as a YoungLife mentor for middle school aged students in Austin brought joy and inspiration for me to be a good role model for the girls I was entrusted with every week. Each week we spent time creating fun games, activities, and social outings together. As someone diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 12, I know the importance of having positive role models and trustworthy individuals in your child’s life. My past experience with YoungLife has also included serving as a Ropes Course Conductor and Camp Counselor at Camp Timber Wolf Lake in Michigan. My skill set here has taught me to responsibly handle safety concerns with children as well given me a keen sense of awareness of their whereabouts at all times.

In addition to volunteering in this capacity, I have also worked as a babysitter for over nine years for children of all ages and diverse family backgrounds. I am accomplished in teaching dance and sports, proficient in French and conversant in Spanish. I love exploring the city and all it has to offer as well as traveling in general.

When working with children, I am industrious and believe in holding myself to high standards in both my professional and personal life to ensure that our time spent together combines fun with a chance for the child to discover and explore their interests. My experience dancing in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2008 continues to motivate me to encourage the kids I work with to dream big and not be discouraged. I was voted Most Optimistic my senior year in high school, and I believe that positivity is essential to being a motivational leader to influence joy in a child’s life.
