About Me

I have loved working with kids since I was a kid. I started when I was 12 at JCC Denver’s Camp Shai program as a Counselor in Training for first and second graders. In college, I continued my work with kids as a tutor and teacher for students at Wilson Elementary School in West Philadelphia. I translated my lessons on science and socio-emotional learning into Mandarin and French, coordinated ninja obstacle courses and dance parties for students at recess, and co-taught art and cooking electives.

I learned from teaching experience and graduate coursework in education and child development that children will be engaged if you center the activity around their passions. Ninja turtles need math to fight bad guys. Detectives need science and reading to solve mysteries. Even princesses need languages so they can meet people from other countries. No matter what your children are interested in, I will work with them to design a set of educational and fun activities that make the time fly until you come home.

On the weekends, you can usually find me running back and forth to CrossFit classes and going on distance runs throughout the city. If you hire me as your sitter, I will show up in running shoes ready to go!

I have professional childcare experience with…

Toddlers, Pre-school aged children, Elementary school aged children, Middle school aged children

I will be SmartSitting while…

Conducting criminal justice policy research in New York City.

In 5 years, I hope to be…

Working in law enforcement to promote positive relationships between officials and communities!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children…

I speak advanced Mandarin and advanced French. I have found that many children are fascinated by the characters, and I would be happy to share my love of Chinese characters with your children as well.

In addition to my language skills, I would be able to use my background in ninjutsu (a traditional Japanese martial art), CrossFit, and running to plan out fun ninja games and obstacle courses for the children that will have them ready for bedtime.
