About Me

From my first job as a tour guide back home in San Diego, donning period attire reminiscent of “Gone With the Wind” while trekking elementary students through our state historic park, I’ve always enjoyed working in an environment that allowed me a certain level of creativity. What better creative outlet is there than to work with children? Over the past 8 years I have held numerous jobs, from babysitting to working children’s birthday parties, for which the joy of creation and exploration was prized above all else. As a Special Events Team Member at New York Kids Club, safety and communication were key in our sophisticated gym facilities while maintaining as fun and high-energy an atmosphere as possible.

Although one day I wish to return to school and receive my teaching certification, I am right now devoting my energy and passion towards art, painting and drawing as inspiration hits. I have found art to be a wonderful learning tool as it both excites the imagination and relaxes the mind and body through the concentration it requires. I love being able to share this experience with young people as I hold discovery at the core of my philosophy of childhood education. Whatever new experiences the world has to offer can be a learning opportunity.
