Since I was in high school, I have been an active child caretaker in a variety of ways! I began babysitting when I was 15, when I worked for families with boys and girls ages 1-12. Once I got to college, I continued to gain more experience in childcare by being a camp counselor for two summers are two different summer camps. I work with girls ages 7-16, lead hiking trips, overnight horseback trips, improv classes, and took care of the day to day activities of my campers. I also worked as an educator at MaineStage Shakespeare, a Shakespeare company in Maine. In addition to acting professionally, the actors taught classes to students ages 5-13 on improv, Shakespeare’s texts, physical work, and playwriting. I love teaching children to joys of acting and improv, and I believe that it is a powerful way for young people to learn the value of their own voices and ideas.
When working with children, I am committed to creating an environment that is safe, engaging, and fun. The children that I work with love the improv games that I play with them, and they gain a tremendous amount of confidence in a safe place. I also love to engage the children with a variety of outdoor activities that allow them to learn about the environment around them. I also enjoy running, tap dancing, reading, and exploring all that Brooklyn and New York have to offer!
