Ever since I was practically still a kid myself I’ve loved working with kids. For over ten years, I volunteered and worked at a day camp for people with developmental disabilities. Everyone there was so wonderfully inspiring! Getting to watch the campers and younger volunteers grow up over the years was phenomenal. The best and most uplifting part of every day was sharing in the joy of someone learning a new skill or achieving a hard sought after goal.
In order to continue positively influencing others while I was in university, I tutored in near-by schools and loved the look of understanding on a student’s face when he or she “got it” and developing mutual trust and respect with my students.
In addition to this, I’ve been working as a nanny part time and a research assistant in a child development lab, and am committed to enriching the lives of children in whatever ways I can. I am devoted to facilitating exploration, creativity, curiosity, and learning.
Every interaction is an adventure and an opportunity for growth, so I strive to make every day more exciting and fulfilling than the last! Part of my enthusiasm for child care stems from my love of hands on activities. I’ve played piano for many years, am a talented healthy foods cook, an avid baker, dancer, juggler, artist, and an insatiable bookworm. Learning new skills and gaining new experiences is a priority of mine, so I also attend lectures or classes and travel to many places. I love creating things and positively affecting and inspiring the lives of others, and I am so lucky to have been able to play a role is so many lives!
