About Me

I currently teach Special Education (elementary and high-school) for a prep school in Manhattan. I’m also a freelance writer and Columbia University graduate who is currently editing a collection of children’s stories for publication. My background is in performing and therapeutic arts, childcare and education. I have worked with children in numerous capacities for over 15 years, and have lived in the United States, South Africa and the UK.

Living and working on more than one continent has made me very comfortable with diversity and I’m able to respond to the varying needs and values of each family.

As a nanny and as a friend, I’ve been told I’m compassionate, patient, reliable and fun. A five year old I cared for had this to say: “I’ll miss you very much when we move, but you and your cat can come to my wedding, okay.” Remarks like those, are one of the reasons I love this job.

I enjoy engaging in imaginative play and stimulating conversation, reading, exploring the city and great outdoors and making art and craft projects galore.

When I’m not teaching or working with families, I write, read, travel, make jewelry, record songs, swim, and enjoy the company of good friends.

Thank you for reading my bio and I look forward to hearing from you!
