About Me

As I’ve worked toward my doctorate in children’s psychology, I have been fortunate to build amazing relationships with families throughout the NYC area as a babysitter. My background in developmental psychology with a focus on behavioral and emotional regulatory skills has helped me to engage children in developmentally appropriate and stimulating activities while having fun and learning. In addition to babysitting, I have worked with children in a variety of therapeutic settings, and am very comfortable working with children who have special needs. Prior to graduate school, I was a part of the curriculum development team for “”Dora the Explorer”" and “”Go, Diego, Go!”" While this experience taught me that small amounts of television can be educational, I believe that children learn from interacting with the world around them, and when I’m on-duty, I avoid electronic media. I am a healthy eater, and believe that the best way to encourage healthy eating in children is to allow them to participate in all aspects of food preparation, from shopping to tasting!

I have helped many parents through the complicated process of applying to preschools and kindergartens in NYC, and am very well-versed in this process. I am comfortable working side-by-side with parents or more independently, and am happy to pitch in around the house in any way I can. I believe the key to a successful babysitting relationship is open and frequent communication between parent and babysitter, and, while I am easygoing and love to have fun, I understand the importance of setting clear and consistent limits.
