I am a recent NYU graduate with a background as a professional dancer and I have a passion for all things art, education, fashion and culture!
In 2006, I left the boarding school Choate Rosemary Hall to pursue dance professionally at a more flexible day school. Throughout my short career, I had the honor of working with artists such as Nicki Minaj, Tyler Perry, David Parsons Company, Punjabi MC, RDB and performing on the show So You Think You Can Dance, Season 5. I’ve toured around the nation teaching workshops and setting contemporary dance pieces and throughout it all, I always found my favorite age to teach was middle and high school students. In between contracts and classes at NYU, I would babysit with SmartSitting!
When I decided to leave dance and focus on my education at NYU, I decided to pursue a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification at YogaWorks. This program and it’s teachings have been an invaluable asset to my work as a dance teacher and ended up helping to land me my first full-time position out of University as a teacher with Fusion Academy – a 1:1 alternative private school on the UES of Manhattan. At Fusion, I used my background in dance, yoga, psychology and nannying to teach multiple subjects to students, ages 12-19. I am currently working in Arts Management part-time and continue to tutor, teach dance and nanny as they will always be my most fulfilling passions.
