About Us / Your Team
Originally an East Coast girl turned West Coast transplant, I spent my formative years growing up in Portland, Oregon! After graduating high school, I made a bee-line back east and went to New York University Steinhart for my undergraduate degree. I studied Musical Theater in the Vocal Performance Program, and graduated with a Bachelors of Music. Music and the arts were always my passion, and I spent most of my adolescence singing and playing the flute. Through music I was able to travel internationally, and sing at venues like Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium, and even the Grammy Awards telecast. I am also a proud alumni of YoungArts, and am still very involved in that organization.
While music was my first love, being around children was my second. I was able to combine those passions in college when I spent a few summers teaching music at a camp. Throughout college I was part of the SmartSitting network and had various babysitting jobs around the city. Upon graduation, I was offered an opportunity to become a full time nanny. Being a nanny allowed me to be a helpful addition to a family’s life, spend countless hours crafting, cooking and being silly with kids, all while pursuing my artistic passions! Nannying is incredibly rewarding and fun, and I believe being a positive influence in a child’s life is one of the most fulfilling jobs a person can do.
After a year and a half of working with a wonderful family, I was thrilled to join the team at SmartSitting and take on the role of Recruitment Director. It’s exciting to meet passionate childcare providers of all different backgrounds, interests and philosophies. Childcare is an extremely personal and important job, and I love getting to know the amazing people who dedicate their time to being involved in children’s lives!
Outside of SmartSitting I enjoy going on adventures, singing and making music, drinking black coffee and squirrels.
