This truly remarkable family is looking to meet a SmartSitter (or perhaps two) who will work with their 16-year-old daughter. She is happy and fun loving and home schooled. She is autistic and has limited speech ability, though pretty extensive written abilities. Your days together will consist of going on adventures all around the city! You will go to museums, the zoo, Central Park, Coney Island, plays, or new exhibits.
Patient, playful, kind, compassionate. Some experience with autistic children a plus, but not necessary. If you have an interest in helping with homeschooling activities, that would be nice but also not necessary. A must is that you're upbeat and can join her in the physical activities she likes such as swimming, bouncing, and water parks. A driver's license and being up for taking her on overnight trips to amusement parks would be great once the trust level is there.
Aside: If you have any knowledge of Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) and/or interest in working with it, this is a plus!
