Since there are two nannies you would be asked only once a year to travel up to 12 days at a time. These days are 8 to 9 hour work days with breaks. The family asks for one night every two months during the week. Once a year mom and dad travel for four days. At that time both nannies and the cleaning person help out in the home plus they hire additional help so no one is ever alone with all three kids.
If you have any background in Waldorf, this is a plus! Also, a love of cooking from scratch is a huge plus. They make lots of muffins, make their own granola bars, everything is from scratch and their are no packaged foods. The family is happy to help teach you about cooking too!

The family is looking to work with someone who is interested in researching things to do that work with each child developmentally (with understanding it is run by mom). They are looking for someone who is proactive and takes initiative, and will do things without prompting or waiting to be asked. Lastly, open communication and a strong communicator is key.
The family is looking for someone Monday through Friday who is available 1:30 PM - 9:30 PM. Regularly the schedule will be 1:30/2 - 7:30 PM and there will be a calendar where you will see when the end time will be closer to 9:30 PM.
The family may occasionally ask if you can stay overnight. Once every few weeks, they'll ask if you can work on a weekend (upstate or in the city) and this will also be laid out in advance.
The family travels often and they will need help taking turns between you and the other nanny in traveling with them. During the summer, the schedule will be one week on, one week off, either upstate or in Maine. They will need help during holidays every other year (switching off Christmas/New Years with Spring Break year to year). You will also have approximately 4 weeks off per year paid, and they as that you coordinate your vacation with the family's if possible.
