We have a great UWS MWR position with 2 kids, 10 and 11. They are looking for help after school from 3:30-6:30 PM. The sitter would be responsible for picking up one or the both kids at school on the UES, take them to activities, playdates, etc., and then take them home to the UWS. It's $25/hour, 9 hours/week, and $225/week, plus reimbursement for travel with the kids. The position will begin 10/2, with phone or in-person interviews taking place starting this weekend.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Someone who is very responsible, smart, kind, and fun. Someone with a fun and great energy who can engage both kids through their interests, particularly dance or sports. School and school work is important to the family and the SmartSitter should be able to help with homework and be a good example for the children. Also, experience with food allergies and knowledge of how to use an epi-pen is definitely a plus! Someone warm and friendly who can embrace the change and transition that the kids will be going through as they part ways with their long-term full-time nanny.
The core schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, form 3:30-6:30 PM, with the possibility of Fridays! Flexibility to stay later on occasion.
About the Children
Boy (11)- He is lovely and fun. He loves sports (baseball is his sport), reading about all different subjects, and math. He is mature and responsible for his age and follows rules very well. Girl (10) - She is very energetic and mature. She loves music and dance and sings most of the time. She loves school, reading and, at least for now, has an interest in space. She is allergic to fish, sesame, and most tree nuts. She carries an Epi-Pen with her at all times.
The sitter would be responsible for picking up one of the children on the UES (which one may change depending on the day) and taking him/her to an after school activity. Their activities are on both the UES and UWS. They would also be helping with some errands in the neighborhood, food shopping, and homework supervision. On Thursdays, they would be bringing both children home from school.
