We have a great East Village position with a 2-year-old boy on Wednesdays, from 2-6 PM. They are looking for someone patient, understanding, kind, loving, experienced, and fun to spend time getting to know their son. Overall, they are hoping to add to their backup roster for when mom goes into labor with their second child. She is due around 3/17, but the baby could come at any time. Any flexibility to assist with this last-minute need would be so appreciated! It's $25/hour for 4 hours/week. The position will begin as soon as they find the right fit. They would love to trial with a sitter as soon as possible! They are such a lovely family!
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Someone with experience with toddlers in this age group and their developmental milestones and even potty training experience is a plus! A kind, sensitive, gentle Sitter with lots of patience. Someone punctual, dependable, and responsible with good communication skills. Experience with getting kids on a sleep schedule is a plus, too! Someone who lives closer to assist in a last-minute capacity would be preferred as mom is pregnant.

About the Children
Boy, 2- He is so good and has so much energy. He is a goofball, but takes a bit of time to warm up to people as he is so sensitive. He is a really really picky eater so mom prepares everything. He also has some challenges getting to sleep. They used to cuddle him to sleep and he wasn't sleep trained so they are currently tackling this challenge. His current sitter gets him milk and reads him a story to get him to sleep and soothe him. They are working on these challenges and are hoping to find someone who is sensitive to this and open to working with them on this, too! He has some slight motor delays; jumping and walking on his toes. He is not yet potty trained, so he is still in diapers. He is also 31 lbs at the moment, so someone active and energetic who can keep up with him and carry him.
They will be taking over the afternoon from his other babysitter. They will be responsible for giving him snacks and dinner, changing him, and having fun with him. His physical therapist comes to the house or takes him to the park for 30 minutes. There is no cooking involved beyond heating up food. Mom will prepare all his meals, but due to his motor skills and pickiness he sometimes needs to be fed.
2-3 months, potentially longer
