We have a great opportunity with a really fun, intelligent, and inquisitive 9-year-old boy in Prospect Heights! The family is looking for help Monday to Friday, from either 3 or 4 PM (depending on activities ) until 6:30 or 7 PM, for a guaranteed 15 hours/week! They are looking for someone who shares his interests Star Wars, Harry Potter, hamilton, reading!) and can engage him in fun and interesting activities or conversation, especially on the trip home from school in the West Village. It's $300/week guaranteed! #yestomannies!
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Someone super attentive and engaging with the boy. Someone who can truly engage with him and listen to him. Someone nurturing, kind, mature, dependable, responsible, engaging, and creative with a sense of humor. Someone comfortable taking him on the subway, and being protective of his safety, and also sitting with him as he does his homework at home. (He works independently, but just needs someone to sit with him.) Someone who shares They have a very strict no phones and screens policy, so they are looking for someone who can respect this and keep off their phone when with the boy.
Monday to Friday, from either 3 or 4 PM (depending on activities ) until 6:30 or 7 PM. If possible, they would love to have their SmartSitter continue in the summer for camp pickup, which would be a similar time Monday to Friday, from 4-7 PM.
About the Children
boy, 8- He is a very bright, sweet, funny, chatty, inquisitive 8-year-old boy, currently in 3rd grade. He loves math, science, Star Wars, Lego, Harry Potter, Hamilton, board games, and imaginative games. He is a truly voracious reader, and really values books. He really loves to learn, too!
The SmartSitter will pick him up from school in the West Village and bring him home to Brooklyn on weekday afternoons. Pickup times vary, depending on the boy's after school activities. Sometimes doing homework in the library at school and hopping on the subway home, which is an easy trip. Or he can come straight home and do his homework there, and then play until dinnertime. No evening/night/weekend help needed, really, and NO meal prep. They occasionally let their sitter leave a bit earlier by 6 PM, or so, however they will always compensate for at least 15 hours/week.
