We have a wonderful returning family in Prospect Heights looking for a few new caregivers to join their team. They are saying goodbye to their beloved SmartSitter after almost three years as she is pursuing a new career! They are looking for either an afternoon sitter or a new full-time sitter to help manage the days with their two adorable girls, 2 and 7. Their ideal candidate is warm, fun, creative, proactive, and easy going. Someone who can jump in and assist with the afternoons to ensure they go smoothly is paramount! Household management experience is a plus, too! It's $25/hour gross for 35-45 hours/week, plus a monthly metrocard and healthcare stipend. The position will begin as soon as possible, with interviews taking place immediately.
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Someone warm, loving, proactive, fun, and experienced with these two ages groups is ideal. They are looking for someone who can keep the mornings running smoothly, and tackle any challenges head on and in an organized way. That said, organization, team work, communication, and an open and bright attitude is a must! While you may never work directly with the other SmartSitter, each one's actions (or lack of) affects the other. For meals, mom is more than happy to share with the new sitter the family's staples which are all really simple and easy to prepare. Finally, someone who is generally really happy and willing to jump in to help as needed and truly be a second hand to the parents who are busy and working FT is paramount!
The core schedule is Monday to Friday, from 10-6 PM or 11/12-7 PM. Flexibility to assist additionally for full days, or in the evenings and weekends. Please note the schedule you are most interested in.
About the Children
girl, 7- She is so easy and such a wonderful kid. She is friendly, creative, and outgoing. She always loves new sitters and meeting new people. girl, 2- She is a fun and more cautious girl than her sister. She takes more time to adjust and warm up to new people. She is largely behaved and sometimes has the occasional upset.
Picking up the youngest girl from school in Park Slope (she is switching to a new school in the fall that has a bus to their home), taking her to activities and playdates, picking up the oldest girl from the bus stop by their apartment, and taking both girls to activities, playdates, the park, or home for fun and engaging activities. The sitter will be in charge of fully caring for the girls and making sure they are happy, healthy, engaged, learning, and ultimately everyone will be happy, too! Assisting with household management tasks such as meal planning, running errands, buying and maintaining household supplies, etc. It is paramount that the SmartSitter help with meal prep and laundry for the family (this is paramount). The morning sitter will assist with this as well and as a team they will make sure all is taken care of each week.
