Are you looking for a light part-time position? This family lives in East Flatbush (off the Newkirk Ave 2 and 5 stop) and are looking for a sitter to help out on Mondays and Fridays for the rest of the school year while their regular sitter works the rest of the weekdays. Their son is 9 years old and has a great sense of humor, he loves to tell jokes! He does struggle with ADHD, anxiety, and depression, so a sitter who is understanding, patient, and kind will be best for him. Please read the below info to learn more, and apply now!
The Ideal Sitter for this Job
Someone who is very patient and understanding considering his needs, someone who can see past those parts of him and can talk through his emotions with him, someone who can redirect a bad attitude (get out of the house if he’s feeling grumpy or upset!). Someone nurturing and who will be super kind with him!
Mondays 3 - 7pm Fridays 12 - 5pm Can be flexible with more or less hours
About the Children
Boy, 9 - Has a sense of humor, loves telling jokes and making his own jokes! He’s very smart. He has an ADHD diagnosis as well as depression and anxiety, he is in a special needs school and sees a psychiatrist regularly. He can get a bit down sometimes but redirecting his behavior and focusing on something else usually does the trick, as does talking things through with him
Simple! You'll pick him up from school in Wall Street and take the subway back home, but maybe stop at the library or playground on the way. On Fridays when you pick him up earlier you'll go on outings to keep him entertained until 4 or so (weather permitting), as mom works from home on Fridays and its best when her son is out of the house. You'll help him with occasional homework and prep him a simple dinner. You'll encourage him to do his chores and help out when necessary. Very occasionally mom may ask you to take him to a doctors appointment after school.
Through the 2020 school year
