About me

Hello everyone my name is Krystle Haynes and I'm originally from a little island called Barbados. Coming from a big family I was always surrounded by children and I'm one of the eldest of four. I've babysat my siblings and many family members from the time I was 14 years old which led to me to being a nanny. I first became a nanny at the age of 20 years old and have loved working with families one on one ever since. I often think that children teach me as much as I do them. Working with children brings pure enjoyment to my life because no matter how hectic life can be, the little hugs and unconditional love a child gives makes all my woes disappear. I've had great experiences being part of a family's love village. I'm also big on showing and using the words "please ", "thank you " & "excuse me" at all times and believe that teaching those kind of mannerisms to a child can and will go a long way- especially when it comes to playing with other children as well as sharing. I am very patient, and like having an open line of communication with parents and children. I am reliable and flexible especially when working late or early hours, and respectful. I'm very efficient in multitasking and have been called the baby whisperer more than once from different families I've worked with. I'm just a total teddy bear with a soft big heart and a warm personality. I bring a bright smile even at 8 in the morning. I'm also an avid reader and I always encourage reading to children everyday even if just for half an hour because it is fundamental to know and learn more about this big world we live in. I also love all animals, but my absolute favorites are dogs. I grew up around all breeds of dogs in Barbados and once I became an adult, I welcomed my very first dog and raised her from a puppy to an adult dog. She is my pride and joy and if you are a dog owner like myself then you know exactly what I mean. I guarantee your dog will love me too!!

I have professional child care experience with...

  • Infants
  • Toddlers
  • Preschoolers
  • School-aged (K-5)

I will be SmartSitting while...

In the kitchen whipping up the next best meal for family and friends, browsing Barnes & Nobles aisles for the next book , hosting game night at my place, exploring upstate New York or New Jersey's hiking trails or camping with friends and family, catching up with my brothers and sisters, being the loudest cheerleader at my baby sister's rugby games or checking in with my family overseas in Barbados & England

In 5 years, I hope to be...

I hope to extend my knowledge in becoming an exceptional nanny to families- if that may include studying early childhood education and also becoming a mommy to my very own child.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to welcome the idea of age appropriate children to help and to supervise them in the kitchen whether it's making sandwiches for lunch, cracking eggs for breakfast or helping me measure ingredients to bake delicious cookies. I don't forget to encourage good and healthy eating habits . I'm very active in the gym and was an avid relay runner but basketball is my favorite sport so I encourage being active whether we bring a ball to the park and play catch or a friendly game of soccer, running around playing red light, green light, simon says, or playing freeze tag. I like to teach a child friendship & teamwork, to share and take turns with friends and siblings, and to let them know it's not about competing against each other but playing together in fairness with compassion.
