About me

I am what you might call a “natural caretaker.” As a child, caring for my family, friends, pets, and toys - making sure everyone was happy, well fed, and nurtured - was my idea of fun. I am also a natural born performer, so making sure that everyone was having fun and being entertained was of upmost importance to me as well. I thrive in creating a fun and nurturing environment where learning, creativity, responsibility, and kindness are celebrated and encouraged.

I take great care to choose the words I speak and the actions I take, especially around children. As a sensitive person, I understand how much any given interaction can impact the way we see the world, so I aim to be a positive impact whenever possible. I strive for harmony and joy. Encouraging children to see things from a joyous perspective whenever possible, even during the not so fun moments, is one of my favorite challenges of the job.

I’ve had the good fortune to work with many children over the years. My babysitting career unofficially began when I became a big sister at the ripe age of eight. Not long after, I started babysitting for neighbors, aunts and uncles, and friends. In college I was a teacher’s aide, and I currently volunteer in elementary schools as a Reading Partners tutor. I've encountered countless personalities, challenges, rewards, and surprises, and feel that I’ve developed quite the skill set for caring and teaching children.

One of those skills is that I am not afraid to play! Or be silly! As an improviser, I’m quick on my feet and very well versed in a “yes and” approach to play. I like to think of myself as a champion for imagination and creativity, so I do what I can to nurture those gifts in others and create a safe space for self expression. As an artist and a lover of the arts, I have an understanding of the creative process that has proven to be very helpful in this line of work. That I enjoy learning alongside them and expanding my own viewpoints through them is one of the many perks of the job.

I am a confident communicator, a good listener, and a gentle leader. I’m fluent in Spanish, and currently learning French. I am well versed in healthy living, and lead a healthy, active, lifestyle that includes dance classes, lots of walking, and pretty healthy eating habits. I am self aware and I take pride in taking a very mindful approach to life and work.

I am excellent with pets, especially dogs. I love animals and have a lot of experience caring for them! I owned a pet sitting business in Los Angeles for years.

I look forward to being your SmartSitter, and being a positive addition to your team.
