About me

I am a fashion photographer and blogger originally from Atlanta, GA. I graduated from Troy University with a B.S. in Psychology and Georgia Southern University with a M.ED in School Psychology.

I have over ten years working with families and children of all ages from newborns to teenagers. I started my childcare career through an adolescent job training program. The program allowed me to work with preschoolers in an academic setting. From then on each year I have worked with children in multiple educational settings.

Over the years as a babysitter I have worked with over 100 different families; many of which were repeat families. The ages of the children I have worked with range from newborns to 13 years old. Working with multiple families has allowed me to experience different family dynamics, household routines, and I have learned many different techniques to manage a household. Duties in my professional babysitting experience include: laundry, household cleaning, making beds, organizing activities and scheduling playdates, drop off/pick up, transporting to activities in the city, homework help, and also ensuring the safety, care, and well being of each child. I also have experience working with twins and multiples.

In addition to one on one experience I have experience working with children in other settings such as childcare centers, public schools, and even as a camp counselor to adolescents. Working in different child care settings as a lead teacher has allowed me to work with children of varying temperaments and special needs. It has also allowed me to create and plan daily art, outdoor, and educational activities.

I have been a lead teacher of different ages which includes infant, toddler, and a 3-5 year old classes. In my last classroom as a lead teacher I had a total of sixteen children that I grew with over the years. They were 18 months when I first started teaching them and 3 years old when I left them in 2016.

I also have worked in the public school system in different special education classrooms with children diagnosed with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and Sensory Processing Disorder, to name a few.

I love anything photography related, reading all types of fiction and children's books, and watching movies. My favorite children's book authors are Mo Williams, Mercer Mayer, and Eric Carle. I hope to one day write a children's book myself. I also enjoy visiting museums, going to the park, and traveling. I am very creative, highly organized, and have an outgoing bubbly personality.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I enjoy doing all types of creative activities with children such as art (painting, drawing, coloring), reading, and music and movement. I also like to go exploring by going to the park, playing with sidewalk chalk, or even draw a map and have a treasure hunt. I enjoy actively searching for new places that I may otherwise overlook by going to the same place over and over. I also teach children skills such as manners, independence, and confidence.
