A little about me! I am a Texas native (Howdy, Ya'll!), who moved to NYC. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in education. I have been babysitting and teaching since high school, but have over five years of professional classroom and nannying experience under my belt. Why do I nanny? Because not only do I absolutely adore children, but I love the idea that I can positively impact a child's upbringing and become part of a family!
I have been lucky enough to work with children since my high school years when I worked as a babysitter for friends and family back in Texas, as well as working as a counselor and teacher for elementary aged children in choir classes and theatre camp. From those formative years, my passion for childcare and education has only grown and developed to where I am today.
For the last five years, I have worked in both professional childcare and classroom settings with a wide age range of children. (Infants through teenagers!). I have taught a variety of classes from group and solo music lessons, private studio dance, science and early reading curriculum, to theatre intensives! I have also nannied regularly for a variety of wonderful families in both Texas and New York.
What can you expect from me as a nanny? I am fun-loving, creative, firm but kind. I like to encourage positive thinking and independent problem solving (while lending a helping hand and a guiding voice when needed!). I love to stay moving both outdoors and indoors, as I feel like an active body and mind is key to development. I pour my heart into every family I work for, and will go the extra mile to make things smooth and happy in your home!
