Hi there! I am Claire; a Texas native and a recent graduate of NYU Drama. I have worked as a part-time nanny in NYC for multiple families of varying sizes all around the city. I have been working with children for quite some time. When I lived at home in Texas, I was a babysitter and mother's helper for several of my neighbors. I primarily worked with two families that both had five year old daughters. I have also worked as a dance assistant at multiple musical theater and dance camps for middle schoolers.
When I moved to NYC for college I started working as a freelance babysitter. The youngest age I have cared for is 3 years old with the oldest being 13 years old. Most often, I was responsible for picking the kids up from school, taking them to their extracurricular activities, taking them home, feeding them dinner and getting them ready for bed. I am very comfortable taking multiple kids on the subway. I also have some experience working with children on the autism spectrum and children with severe allergies.
My philosophy as a nanny has always been safety first. Especially living in NYC, this is always at the forefront of my mind and being aware of your surrounds is paramount to keeping myself, and the children in my care safe. Having said that, I am a person who loves all things creative and I bring that approach to childcare. My goal is always to find a good balance between making things fun and being practical.
I am very dedicated, organized, and detail oriented which translates well to childcare. I think some of my strengths as a nanny are being patient and not being afraid to say no. It's very important to me to keep an open dialogue with the parents and make sure we are on the same page. I'm here for you and your kids! So I want to make sure you are happy with my approach. I also have lots of experience with cooking both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Lastly, I have taken many child psychology classes, which have given me a greater perspective on how to be the best caretaker I can be for your children.
Working with kids brings me a lot of joy! It's a pleasure to help them discover their strength, creativity, intelligence, and new things about the world.
