Hello! My name is Zack and I am very passionate about working with children and helping them grow into wonderful humans. I have been teaching for almost 4 years now and am looking to help families and build meaningful relationships with the families while doing what I love... working with kids! I have been working with children for around 12 years and have experience caring for, tutoring, teaching, and mentoring kids between ages 2 and 13. I mentored boys ages 9 and 10 as a camp counselor at an overnight camp in North Carolina.
I worked as a children's ministry intern at a church in Florida planning and executing a weeklong overnight camp, a vacation bible school camp, and weekly Sunday and Wednesday events. I worked in a daycare at a YMCA working with children ages 2 - 12 leading them in various games and activities. I have taught children in both fourth and second grade including children aged 6 - 10.
My favorite year of teaching was my first, because I was able to develop my own practice and explore all of the reasons I love working with kids! I made great relationships with the children in my class and their families and I found my identity as an educator. I have always enjoyed helping children academically and developing a bond with them as a positive male role model.
I love children because they embody the adventurous and imaginative spirit that I strive to maintain in my adulthood. Children speak their minds, constantly pursue creativity, and experiment with every aspect of life to mold their lives and personalities through interactions with family and friends, hobbies and interests, and their own developing opinions and ideologies. I believe that any child can achieve their goals and dreams if we, as adults, do everything in our power to love, support, and encourage them to keep working and giving it their all. I feel that no limitation can eliminate a child's possibility and optimism. I want to be a part of empowering a new generation to be compassionate and driven. I look forward to speaking with you and hopefully working with your family!
