I am a native New Yorker and began working as a Nanny in 2008 after a career in event planning. My down-to-earth personality makes me easy to talk to and get along with, and I am told that my sense of humor is one of my best qualities.
I just finished working for a family with a six-year old boy in downtown New York when their former Nanny returned to the family after a one-year hiatus. My various responsibilities included taking him to and from school, helping him with homework, cooking meals, and arranging play-dates. I also provided general assistance and personal shopping duties for the family.
Prior to my most recent position, I had a six-year tenure with a family on Long Island. I helped this busy mother of three with many aspects of the children’s lives including diaper changes, meal preparation, arranging play-dates, activity time, bedtime, doctor’s appointments, and so much more. I also helped her with some personal assistant duties including personal shopping and grocery runs. When the children were settled into primary school, the mother no longer needed full-time assistance.
As a Nanny, I am trustworthy and responsible. I believe that reading is an important part of the day, and I try to make time for it as much as possible. When the weather is nice, I also think it’s good to take children outside to Central Park, or other local parks and playgrounds. I do not have any strict philosophies on discipline, but I believe in being a positive role model for children by being polite, respectful, and courteous to others.
