About me
I grew up with a large extended family, which meant there was always a baby for me to play with at any given time. As an adult, not much has changed, and you can still find me sitting at the kids table at most family events! I moved to NYC in January 2018 to pursue a career in musical theatre, after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA in Theatre and a minor in Media Studies. Since moving to the city, I have been lucky enough to land roles as Natalie in Next to Normal at Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, Florida and in the national tour of A Charlie Brown Christmas!
I have been babysitting and nannying for about 11 years, working with children ages 4 months to 12 years old. I started babysitting in my hometown of Poquoson, VA, and continued throughout college. I've been with SmartSitting since I moved to the city and worked primarily in their temp department, working with about 70 families so far. I have been lucky to make lasting connections with many families and return frequently to babysit for them again! My experience ranges from snuggling babies, to working with multiple siblings, to having a girls-night-in with a cool 11-year-old! I adapt easily and have developed the skill of quickly reading a child and doing all I can to gain their trust. I am comfortable traveling with children and am extremely familiar with the NYC subway system. I have taught basic piano and voice to children I've cared for in the past, and love to share my passion for the arts. I also teach fitness (at Xtend Barre!), so I am always ready to run around with and lift kiddos of all ages! I especially enjoy all that the NYC parks system has to offer young children.
I'm a huge musical theatre lover, and especially like to share my love of singing and dancing with children! A go-to activity for me is to put on a fun playlist and have kids show me their best dance moves! I'm an avid cook and healthy eater, and am happy to share that knowledge with kids. I personally love to read, and am always more than happy to read aloud while babysitting.
