My love for working with children stems from my personal belief of living life to the fullest in joy , full of creative self-expression. When you are in a room for 10 minutes or less with children there is no doubt that you can see the fullness of who they are shine through without inhibition. For the past 10 years as a elementary school teacher I have had the privilege of helping children develop into the fullness of who they are, by drawing out the beauty and brilliance that is already within them, which is the true role of education.
I began working with children when I was still a child myself at the ripe of 12 years old. From that time until now I have taken on many roles in the lives of children. From camp counselor, to babysitting, to teaching, to mentoring to whatever the many titles for helping a child become their best, I've probably done it. I currently hold a masters degree and childhood education and special education (children with disabilities).
Over my many years of working with children I also found the time to nurture my personal passions for dance and holistic wellness. My passion for dance and the arts have enabled me to become a dance instructor for children which has afforded me the opportunity to help children explore their creativity and body awareness through movement. Additionally, it has allowed me to help children discover the many joys and facets of the performing arts from costuming, to acting and imagination. Further, my board certification as a holistic health practitioner allows me to understand the crucial link between a child's social, emotional and academic development and the food they put into their body. It has given me in depth knowledge of how to help children and their families lead healthy, harmonious and balanced lives.
Lastly, as an educator and childcare provider I take great pride in the joy, laughter, positivity and fun I bring to the lives of children and their families.
