About me

I am a California girl, but have lived in NYC for a few years now, and musical theatre is my biggest passion. Singing and performing make my heart swell, and I love sharing the thrill of performance with children and encouraging them to find their voice. One of my other passions is cooking & baking! I love making delicious food, and enjoy sharing easy techniques with kids. I am also a super crafty gal – I crochet, knit, sew all kinds of things, make jewelry, draw, paint, take photos, design clothes, etc! Some of my other interests include board games, word puzzles, water sports, Disney, nail art, reading, and watching hockey.

Working with children is perfect for me because they possess a special joy and creative spirit; I too can find sunshine in anything! My personality is bubbly, energetic, and warm. I am very patient, compassionate, and a good listener. Importantly, I maintain structure and safety while keeping things fun. My personal goal is to fill children with positivity, encouragement, and a sense of pride. I love seeing children succeed and be happy! It is very exciting and rewarding for me to foster their creativity and curiosity in the world, and to see them grow.

I have loved my 10+ years of experience with kids as both a teacher and nanny. I have taught in a special needs elementary classroom, led after-school programs, drama programs, and nannied for all ages: newborns through teenagers.

I have professional child care experience with...

  • Infants
  • Toddlers
  • Preschoolers
  • School-aged (K-5)
  • Preteen
  • Teenagers
  • Multiples
  • Special Needs

I will be SmartSitting while...

Cooking and baking, auditioning for musical theatre shows, crocheting and sewing for my Etsy shop, and running my independent nail business.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Singing my heart out on Broadway! That's my dream, but my long-term plan is to eventually become a theatre teacher. Either way, in 5 years I hope to be a mother myself!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love love singing, of course! Disney sing-alongs, crazy freeze dance parties, comedy improv, and putting on a show are all things I love doing with kids. Cooking and baking! I really enjoy crafts of all kinds, like crochet, knitting, embroidery, and jewelry making. Art of all kinds, especially drawing, painting, photography, & paper-crafts. I know a lot about music: how to play flute, beginner's piano, and how to read music. Board games are a big interest of mine; they are brain-stimulating and fun! I took ballet for 13 years, so I can help teach dance steps. I also know a bit of American Sign Language, and have fun teaching kids signs!
