I am originally from Nashville, TN but came to New York while attending college and fell in love with the city and decided to permanently reside here! I graduated from Belmont University and currently hold a Bachelors of Arts degree. I have always had a passion for working with children, and grew up in the childcare industry along side my mother who owned and operated a 3 star home daycare for over 15 years. My duties as a childcare teacher included keeping a daily log to communicate to parents about child’s progress throughout the day; planning weekly age appropriate activities and a curriculum, and maintaining a daily schedule. I also trained new teachers and worked as a substitute teacher at other daycares when requested, and coordinated and set up events such as Christmas parties, Easter eggs hunts, parents day out, and community service events.
In addition to my background and experience working as a teacher in daycares, prior to moving to New York I spent time working with various organizations and as a nanny through a family oriented nanny service and Middle Tennessee's oldest and largest caregiving placement agency. My duties included working one on one with families providing in home care, as well as working with other nannies in a group settings at conferences, meetings and hotel events supervising up to 50 children at a time.
In my 8 plus years as working as a caregiver and nanny I have completed many childcare development trainings and courses including early childhood developmental classes through TECTA (Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance) and CPR and First Aid. I have worked with ages 0-13 years and have experience with twins and multiples. I have built my reputation and have been requested back by multiple families.
