About me

Although my professional childcare career did not begin until I was 14, I've had a passion for working with children since the tender age of 8. I always looked forward to lending my mother a helping hand in conducting her Sunday School preschool classes. I was often eager to babysit my younger brother, family members and family friends without the slightest hesitation. A love of children has just always come naturally to me. Since then, I have had the pleasure of being able to explore my passion for being a caregiver to children and be welcomed with open arms, into the private lives of a comprehensive list of absolutely marvelous families.

I have extensive experience in caring for special needs children with physical and developmental disabilities, children with learning disabilities, and multiples, and I feel comfortable and confident caring for children of all ages, from infancy to young adults. I am unquestionably accomplished in all matters of child care, including but not limited to: changing diapers, preparing bottles, pre-doctors visit pep talks, lending a listening ear and teaching valuable life lessons such as respect, the importance of giving back to your community, how deep breathing and meditation can bring you a positive, clear mind, why communication is key and why eating all of your vegetables is so very important.

I am a firm believer in nurturing young minds and planting seeds of success. I believe that no dream is too big for any child to achieve, that every day is a wonderful day for an adventure and a lesson can be learned from every experience. I am passionate about helping children realize their potential and chasing their wildest dreams with them. I always truly enjoy creating the most magical, nurturing and safe environment possible for children to grow, learn and explore daily. I am a caregiver who lives by the philosophy of "Give guidance from the heart for the best start," and I'm constantly striving to be a positive role model to each child I work with, as well as a someone who children enjoy confiding in because it comes naturally. I seek to be not just a caregiver, but a genuine friend to the children I care for.

I pride myself in being a positive, energetic, fun-loving, communicative, compassionate, detail-oriented and organized team player, who loves to utilize my multi-tasking skills in any way that I can. I am an out of the box thinker who takes pleasure in finding a solution to every equation. I am presently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Additionally, I currently hold a New York State Certified Nursing Assistant License, a BLS/Advanced CPR certification as well as a First Aid certification.

I will be SmartSitting while...

Creating new and delicious recipes for healthy, clean meals, working on perfecting my cake decorating with fondant or baking an excessive amount of chocolate chip cookies, exploring the pages of any book I can get my hands on, writing my next fictitious adventure, catching waves with my kiteboard (weather permitting of course), dancing my way through an early morning cycling class at Peloton Cycle or Soulcycle, painting with oil paint, exploring every corner of New York City possible, running on the beach with my dogs, practicing my yoga and meditation techniques, volunteering with various non-profit organizations, tending to my plethora of herbs and spices that I grow in my apartment's window boxes and of course, settling down in my cozy corner armchair and working on my college course work.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A home owner, working towards my Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychology and still being a part of an amazing family team who I would consider an extension of my own family.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I truly enjoy being able to share my love of cooking and baking with every child I work with. I feel that the strongest bonds are made in the kitchen while creating food filled with love and positivity. I also enjoy helping children improve their writing technique to bring life to magical worlds they believed could only exist in their imaginations, tap into an appreciation for art whether that be through painting, coloring, etc., reading together and nurturing a love of reading/learning to read, creating upbeat dance routines to their favorite song/artist together, playing new games that they may have never played before and being able to create games for different chores, teaching children ways to make seemingly difficult tasks easier for them and teaching them how to center themselves, to just stop and take a deep breath when they are feeling overwhelmed, upset, frustrated or generally off balance. I also enjoy getting children involved in yoga or other activities that help them relax when necessary, Above all, the most important thing that I enjoy teaching children is how to express themselves and how to communicate openly (teaching them to "use their words").
