I have a true passion for working with children. As a certified teacher, I am very organized and detail-oriented. I strive to keep consistent structure and schedules but am flexible when the occasion arises. I desire to leave a positive impact on every child I come in contact with.
I began babysitting when I was eleven years old and continued to do so through college. While working towards my degree in college I had over six hundred hours in the field working in elementary schools with children of a variety of ages. After graduating with my degree in Elementary Education at Saint Mary’s College, I returned to my hometown to teach and be near my family. I taught kindergarten in an inner city school to a group of 18 students who were considered “at-risk.” Although I loved the job and opportunity to be with my family, I decided to move to New York to be closer to other loved ones. I wish to continue working with children in the city.
In my years of babysitting and teacher training, I have worked with hundreds of children from all ages, including infancy through young adulthood. While working with children I love to share my love of reading and learning. In my past nanny position, I also doubled as a tutor for the children over the summers to prepare the children for the upcoming school year. I am a very family-oriented person and believe the relationships made are the most valuable part of any experience working with children.
