My nurturing nature pulled me toward baby dolls and pets, and as I got older it drew me to begin babysitting. Entering young adulthood I began to realize childcare was not just something I liked to do in my free time, but that I wanted to make a career out of childcare. I love the energy children bring into a room. Their innocence and desire to learn and explore make childcare a job you never need a vacation from. Since then I've gained years of experience working for amazing families and continuing my studies in higher education so that I can better understand and help develop the incredible children I care for.
I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. This aids me immensely in helping develop the language and literacy skills of the children I provide care for. I have had the pleasure of working as a babysitter, camp counselor, full-time nanny and teaching assistant in preschool, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. I have the most experience with early childhood aged children but have worked with children of all ages. Though I enjoyed my times in the classroom I have a true love for private childcare and have chosen to continue my career as a nanny and not become a teacher. I have several years of experience working in private households as a nanny and extensive household manager experience as well.
My experience and education has set me up with the tools I need to provide a safe, fun and happy environment for children that stimulate healthy growth in each of their developmental stages. I truly believe children learn best through play. So most importantly, I want to make sure the children I care for feel loved and have fun. There are many things about my childhood I sit back and reminisce on with a smile. I always hope to aid parents in creating a childhood for their children they can reminisce on with a smile as well.
I believe everyone should be passionate childcare because children are our future. Being a part of their development into well-rounded members of society is such an enjoyable and rewarding opportunity and so much fun!

I will be SmartSitting while...
When I'm not babysitting I spend a lot of time writing. I'm currently working on a series of children's books about a four-year-old girl navigating through life; the books will follow her up until she leaves for college. I love food and trying new foods, so cooking and visiting new restaurants is one of my favorite pastimes. To balance that out I like to keep active by spending some time in the gym or going for runs with my malti-poo named Banks.
In 5 years, I hope to be...
I hope to also be a children's book author with a long term full-time job as a nanny for a wonderful family.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I took theatre class for all four years of my high school career, so dramatic play is definitely an activity I like to incorporate while babysitting. It is especially beneficial for children because it really helps with their language and literacy development and they love it! For older children it is definitely a good time for them to express themselves and utilize their wonderful imaginations. I also believe remaining active is very important. With the children I care for, I love to do activities like going to the park, playing some sports, or making a huge list of all the cool places we have to visit here in NYC and checking it off. Reading and even creating our own stories is something I like to do often as well. Each child has there own interests and I am always eager to tap into them.
