About me

I am here to debunk the myth that a male can’t be an effective and efficient child care provider. In fact, working with children and their families is not only my calling, it is my vocation. It is more beneficial to those receiving services when one is in a profession because it is their vocation, as opposed to something they do out of necessity. It also creates a happier and healthier environment, which is the ultimate reward! Some people are in fact natural born caretakers, and I have nurtured and fostered my gifts in a meaningful and impactful way to meet the needs of children and families I work with.

Being raised in a single-parent household has strengthened and made me who I am today. I am originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina; however, I relocated to Washington, DC and subsequently to Denver, CO, where I was employed as a caretaker. I continued my journey to New York City, where I gained an abundance of experience and further enhanced my vocational skills. I have acquired the necessary skills and abilities throughout my life’s journey that are required while working in this field. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, traveling and spending quality time with my friends and family. More importantly, I am open to learning new things.

My ultimate goal is to be a positive and stable figure for children. I take pride in my ability to accept constructive criticism and consistently re-assess my strengths and areas for growth. Having open, non-judgmental communication with those I work with is equally important. Being a caretaker is a way of life and I work hard in upholding professional values and morals. Thinking outside the box is another necessary skill while working with families. Not every family is the same and without creativity, there is a possibility of stagnation. I intend to create happy and healthy environments that meet specified familial needs.

I not only want to bring balance to the lives of others, I want there to be a rhythm. The analogy of viewing life as a rhythm, as opposed to a balance, is the way I envision my life and vocation. There are many parts working together as one and I can think of many ways while working with families to create a harmonious rhythmic beat. My life revolves around working with people, which is the best thing I can contribute to the world and I look forward to the possibilities of working with others.
