I am passionate about working with children and being a part of exploring the world with them. It is a wonderful experience to try and see the world through a child’s eyes. I knew at a young age that I wanted to work with children. Being one of the eldest in a large family, I had many younger cousins that looked up to me. It was my love for creating games and stories to keep them entertained that inspired me to work with children.
Pursuing education for my undergraduate degree solidified my love and joy working with children. There is nothing more rewarding than building connections and relationships with children that help them to mature and grow. With over two hundred hours of classroom experience, I have taught, tutored students in groups and one-on-one settings. I have taught students in Preschool, K-4 grades, in all subject areas from Math, Science and English. My most recent classroom experience, I was fortunate to work with high functioning autistic children. They helped put a fresh perspective of the value of building relationships. I found that building relationships with children not only makes a difference in their life, but also makes such a large impact in mine.
