  • Ideal Nanny: Loving, caring, respectful, really has the desire to be a nanny, friendly, prompt and reliable, takes initiative, super communicative, follows up with mom during the day, enjoys cooking, comfortable stopping by the supermarket here and there.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8AM – 6PM. Stay at home mom who is very sweet, loving, open, and communicative. The family may occasionally need someone to stay a half hour to an hour late. They also may occasionally want you to stay overnight.The family may also occasionally need help on a weekend, however they are open to working with an on-call SmartSitter if you would rather not or are not free. Lastly, they may be interested in bringing you on vacation if you are interested.
  • Kids: Very sweet, smart, and active 2.5 year old boy. He loves to play with his friends, trucks, and go to the park and run. Wonderful listener and very respectful. Baby to be will arrive in August!
  • Rate: $18-20/hour, $900-1000/week (gross)
  • Commitment: Candidates should ideally be looking for a stable, multi-year position.
  • Responsibilities: Mom is due in August and needs some help! Work with mom as a team caring for her two year old boy. Drop off and pick up from school, planning play dates, taking initiative to bring him to activities, preparing meals, laundry, helping with light cleaning, encouraging learning and engaging with him, dinner, bath. Once the baby comes, the family will have a baby nurse for two months (August through October). After that, the nanny’s main responsibility will still be for the little boy, however there may be a few hours at a time with both children.
  • Requirements: The family is looking for someone who will also have experience with a newborn and able to manage the little boy as well as the baby at the same time. Flexibility is important as well as punctuality and professionalism. At least two stellar references from recent childcare or childcare related positions.

Full-time special needs live-in job on Upper East Side with 6 your old boy & 11 year old girl!

  • Schedule: This is a live-in position on the Upper East Side. You would have your own large bedroom and private bathroom. There is also a private entrance. Schedule will include weekdays, some weekends, and frequent overnight travel. There will also be another caregiver that will be available and helping much of the time.
  • Kids: 6-year-old boy going on 25! Some developmental delays, goes to occupational therapy, play therapy, dance, gymnastics. Can be shy but is playful. 11-year-old outgoing and fun girl! Has down syndrome, also goes to occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, dance, gymnastics, and takes piano. Likes reading, painting and drawing.

  • Responsibilities: Organize and take part in the children’s games, crafts, activities, reading, homework and outings; drive children to/from school and activities, playdates, appointments, e.g. dance class, soccer
    Work with teachers and therapeutic service providers to reinforce recommended protocol – observe child’s behavior and provide verbal feedback to parents and therapists; participate in the emotional well-being of the children – promote social development – discipline in keeping with the parents’ direction; maintain a high level of personal cleanliness and orderliness and enforce this with the children – e.g. assist with and encourage their personal care, cleaning their rooms, maintaining their wardrobe; use personal computing and smart phone to communicate with parents and assist the children – maintain administrative reports as required by parents; assist with making medical appointments and ordering supplies; plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children; perform housekeeping tasks for children’s rooms; for overall household, if called upon in urgent situation. They also have a small dog.

Full-time Nanny Job in Dumbo with 3-year-old boy!

  • Ideal Nanny: Engaging, energetic, creative, reliable, good judgment, able to handle discipline firmly and consistently
  • Kids: 3 year old boy who is smart, chatty, outgoing and interactive. Loves music, story time, helping to cook, playing games, and art classes. He’s extremely good natured and a generally happy little guy.
  • Schedule: This is a long-term position, however the schedule will have some alterations over the next 5 months. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 9AM – 7PM, Tuesdays, Thursdays 12:30PM – 7PM through June. For June and July, it would be a regular 9AM – 7PM schedule. August, it would be part-time from 3PM – 7PM. Then, starting in September through the 2015-2016 school year, it would be Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 3PM – 7PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9AM – 7PM. There will be a few more full days during the school year, or an occasional evening, making the average about 35 hours/week. The offered rate is $17/hour for now through July (averaging about $765/week). Starting in August, the rate can increase to $20/hour (averaging about $700/week).

  • Responsibilities: Full investment in the little boy’s early learning and development. The family expects all the areas at home where he’s playing and spending time to be in order, tidied and cleaned up daily (this includes a light vacuum of the floors every couple of days), picking him up from pre-school, etc. Occasionally the family will ask you to cook (roasting veggies, rice, or something from a recipe). Otherwise, it’s he little boy’s daily routine (brushing teeth, nap time, meals, and when needed for later hours, bath and bedtime). There may be an occasional errand, grocery shopping, or dry cleaning drop off / pick up maybe once/week. There will be occasional playdates. A cleaning person comes once/week to do the heavy cleaning. Family also has a dog.

  • Schedule: The schedule is extremely flexible. There are specific responsibilities required and as long as you are self motivated, the working hours are usually at most 40 hours/week and occasionally fewer hours.
