Always On: Babysitting and Backup Care, Important Policies

Last Minute Requests (less than 24 hours’ notice) must be made via email to team@smartsitting.com and are subject to availability. Should a sitter be confirmed, families will receive an email and Members Site portal confirmation. Should the family cancel a last minute booking after confirmation, Smart Sitting will bill for the full amount of care.

Billing: Caregiver hourly rates are billed on the Monday of the week of services. There is a 4-hour minimum for all bookings, even when a shorter booking is requested. On Mondays, any overages worked during the previous week (Monday through Sunday) will also be billed. Billing is done via ACH Bank Draft. Credit card processing is available for an additional fee of 2.9% + 50 cent transaction fee. If the back-up payment method fails, you will have 24 hours to update your billing information or your upcoming bookings may be canceled.

Travel Reimbursements: For bookings ending at 9 PM and later, provide a car for your SmartSitter or reimburse for their travel home.

Cancellations: Families have until 5 PM two business days prior to the date of care to cancel without penalty. If a family cancels after 5 PM within two business days prior to the date of care, Smart Sitting will charge the family for 4 hours. For family cancellation prior to the penalty window, hourly rates previously billed for work not performed will be credited towards future bookings. Any family cancellations with less than 4 hours notice will be forfeited in full. If a sitter cancels, we will do our best to restaff if possible. If a family chooses not restaff the booking, the full balance will be kept on file as a credit.

All SmartSitters are vaccinated against COVID-19, thoroughly vetted, undergo strict reference and background checks, personal interviews, and are CPR and First Aid certified.
