We’re hiring summer interns!

SmartSitting is looking for a wonderful intern to act as our ‘SmartSitter liaison’ and to help us manage the day-to-day operations of our business which include:

-Recruiting new team members

-Researching and implementing new advertising strategies

-Reviewing candidate applications

-Coordinating candidate interviews


-Helping new team members transition flawlessly into the network

-Managing paperwork of new candidates

-Updating team member pages on our website

-Spending time getting to know all of the executive directors and our amazing team of SmartSitters

-We are also open and eager to hear from candidates with experience and interest in basic website maintenance and accounting, although involvement in these sectors is completely optional.We are looking to bring a paid intern on board, and ideally this position will fulfill course credit at the candidate’s university. Stipend will be based on experience and educational status. If interested, we will also be happy to arrange babysitting opportunities around the intern’s schedule, as an opportunity for further income.

The schedule: Hours are flexible (15-25 hours/week), and can be worked around a candidate’s schedule. While we will require some time spent out of home with one of the three directors, most work can be done via email, from home or school.

About us: SmartSitting was started in the summer of 2009 by a college sophomore with a love for all things related to childcare and education, and the determination to revolutionize the childcare industry by merging the two concepts through SmartSitting’s philosophy of educational childcare.

Since the three current executive directors combined forces, the company has worked with over 200 different families and more than 500 sitters. Recently, SmartSitting’s ‘oddball’ interview tactics were featured in a story on CNN.com.
