From San Diego to New York: A Love for Adventure

Before moving to Manhattan, Monica was born and raised in San Diego, surrounded by the outdoors.

“I used to hike every weekend,” she tells us, describing how staying active has shaped her approach to nannying. She’s always on the go, planning park outings and fun activities that keep the kids moving. “I hate being stagnant,” she laughs. “With little ones, there’s never a dull moment!”

A Lifelong Passion for Childcare

Monica began her childcare journey early, babysitting her niece at just three months old. “I remember bottle feeding, changing diapers, and introducing her to solid foods,” she recalls.

Over the years, her responsibilities expanded. Her experiences range from babysitting during high school summers to becoming a live-in nanny for a family in Mexico. She has worked with children from infancy, through toddlerhood and well into school age.

“In college, I realized my passion for childcare when I worked at the university’s Child Development Center,” she explains. Since then, childcare has been a central part of her life.

Organized, Proactive, and Always Ready to Help

What truly sets Monica apart is her proactive nature. “If I see clothes that don’t fit anymore or something out of place, I’ll take care of it. I’ll always leave the home better than I found it,” she says. And she’s reliable—so reliable that she once arrived 30 minutes early for a job!

Families can also count on her organizational skills. From managing kids’ schedules to helping with laundry and errands, she’s there to make life easier for parents. In the past, home assistant roles have proved themselves to be an extra good fit, based on her combo of childcare enthusiasm and organizational magic.

Fluency in Spanish and a Love for Teaching

In addition to her childcare skills, Monica is fluent in Spanish. “I love teaching kids new things, especially language,” she says. She often helps children learn basic Spanish phrases, enhancing their communication skills in a fun and engaging way.

“With one family, I helped a little boy form sentences in both English and Spanish,” she recalls, reflecting on how rewarding it was to see his progress.

A Nanny Who Loves Her Job

What keeps Monica motivated is simple: she loves to work. “I’m a hard worker and a good worker,” she says. And it shows – her ideal position is at least 50 hours a week, and once she’s there, she’s all in. She’s confident in the work she does and knows that her love for kiddos is obvious to them.

Why You’ll Love Having Monica in Your Home

"I’m here to make sure your kids are safe, happy, and loved!"

What we’ve loved about her is that she’s proactive, reliable, and full of energy, with years of experience working with children. She brings her dedication to childcare to any family she’s working for, whether as their long-term nanny or as a backup babysitter. "I’m here to make sure your kids are safe, happy, and loved," she says, and we know she means it because we’ve seen it.
