What’s New at Smart Sitting
I’m sure some of you have already noticed that things look a little different at Smart Sitting these days. You may have seen a pinwheel or two moving playfully on our website or in the bottom of our email signatures. Well, we’re happy to officially announce that we’ve retired our original branding and adopted a new look and logo, one that represents movement, adaptability, and joy. Welcome to a new era at Smart Sitting, filled with big dreams, hope, and excitement.
The past 18 months have been so transformative for us as a team. Our mission to redefine childcare has crystalized. We believe that childcare is incredibly important, too often undervalued, and deserves to be culturally and socially elevated to match it’s incredible impact on the world. As industry leaders, we are working day in and day out out to create opportunities in childcare that correspond with the high level skills necessary to provide outstanding childcare experiences. We’re calling on you, our community of thoughtful families, talented caregivers, and innovative companies, to help us elevate the professions of all individuals who dedicate their lives to working with children. We’re so glad you’re here with us. Please explore our recently launched brand new website and learn more about where we are today both in spirit, philosophy, and in physical location… because it seems like everyone moved during the pandemic!
That’s right. New locations! While the majority of our operations still touch the lives of families in New York City and the surrounding metro area, we have also launched long-term full-time nanny placement services in New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Not only that, but we have added innovative nationwide corporate childcare benefits that go beyond back-up care. So, if you work at a company, introduce us to your HR person and the next thing you know, you might have a Smart Sitting benefit that is fully covered or subsidized by your employer.
Enough about location, location, location. Let’s talk about babysitting. How do great babysitters find great babysitting jobs, and how do families find great babysitters? We know you know the answer! We’re relaunching your favorite babysitting service, complete with a brand new web app for caregivers and families. Finally! Some of us around here might say that this app is 10 years overdue (and it probably is). We can’t wait to get this out into the world, so look out for emails about the Smart Sitting Always On Babysitting Program in your inbox soon!
Last but not least, if you’re reading this, we just want to say thanks for being here. Whether you’re a family member, a caregiver, or an organization that has worked with us. It’s been a wild couple of years and this community has been so strong and inspiring. This team is constantly in awe of how much you reflect our core values back to us - you are adaptable, accountable, supportive, genuine, and professional and without even one of those qualities, we can’t do what we do. Let’s put some good into the world and accomplish great things together!
