The Great PUPkin - Annual dog costume contest

When: Saturday, October 29

Where: Fort Greene Park

The Great PUPkin is on its 24th year of bringing impressively costumed dog joy to Fort Greene. This annual tradition, which is free for spectators, sees countless doggos dressed in their finest, most inventive, and hilarious costumes. Adults love it it, too! 

Creepy Crawly Halloween in Prospect Park

When: Sunday, October 30, 2022, 1-4 PM

Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park

For your budding biologist, the Audubon Center has a packed afternoon of slightly creepy, but definitely intriguing, exploration programming to offer. Dissect owel pellets, go on a Creepy Crawly walk around the hidden parts of the park, and assist in a feeding of the animals in the Center’s collection. 

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Harvest Festival

When:  Saturday, October 22, 11 AM - 4 PM

Where: Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier 6

The 12th annual Harvest Festival in Brooklyn Bridge park is a classic, with activities to fit every kind of kid! There’s arts and crafts, storytelling, face painting, games, and more. Best of all, perhaps, is the festival’s pumpkin patch, helping Brooklyn kids get that much closer to nature and the season. 

Bay Ridge Ragamuffin Parade

When:  Saturday, October 1, 1 PM

Where: Bay Ridge, starting at 76th Street and 3rd Avenue, walking down 3rd Avenue to 92nd Street. 

Now in its impressive 55th year, the Ragamuffin Parade lets kids who love to dress up walk in this fun, festive parade, alongside marching bands, fire engines, and more. Taking place at the start of the month, it’s a great way to kick off Halloween season - and every child who walks the whole parade route gets a gift at the end! 

The Brooklyn Boo at Albee Square

When: Saturday, OCtober 29 2-5 PM

Where: Downtown Brooklyn, Fulton St & Bond St

This fun street festival along the Fulton Mall by City Point promises all sorts of fun Halloween activities, with music, performances, prizes, and more. After, you can head downstairs at City Point to the underground Market Hall for food from around New York - and the world.
