A Family's Fight Against Cancer: How You Can Help

We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to ask for your support for one of our dedicated nannies who is facing a difficult situation.

For several months now, this nanny's 13-year-old child has been undergoing a long and fierce battle against cancer. As a sitter who derives endless joy from watching children laugh, smile, and have so much fun, it’s been unbelievably painful to watch their own child unable to do those things.

Before cancer, this young girl was a happy and lively spirit, always engaged in fun activities. She loved to dance, with the best stage presence, and a smile that lit up the room. Swimming was another passion, whether doing laps or splashing with friends. A true foodie, she loved cooking, trying new recipes, and exploring different cuisines. School was another joy, where she eagerly learned and excelled.

Sadly, these activities, and many others that brought her joy, are no longer possible. She barely has the energy to get out of bed, let alone swim, dance, or spend time with friends. The only thing she has energy for is to cry about how much she misses being able to have fun. She tries to hide it, but her eyes mist up when watching TV shows or movies that remind her of happier times. Her appetite is gone due to treatments, making eating a necessity rather than a joy. She misses school, friends, and the excitement of learning, constantly worrying about her grades and future education.

Though the daughter is the most impacted, her illness has taken a massive toll on the whole family. It breaks their hearts to see her lose her love for life and leaves them riddled with fear about her ability to beat this illness. Her brother struggles to sleep, panicking about losing his sister, and spends much of his days crying. Financially, the burden is overwhelming. The costs of treatments, transportation, and specialists have left the family struggling to make ends meet. Their son has had to give up activities and make many adjustments due to the financial strain. The family is lost on what to do next and is terrified of losing their baby girl.
